Open Letter From The Founder

Dear Friends: The taxes that we all pay on a federal and or local level are in part used to help fund our Public Safety services in support of local communities. It is no secret that some towns and cities are funded better than others; however, there is one common thread no matter the department or the amount of funding they have. That is they are for the most part staffed by selfless individuals that risk their lives to save person and property, day in and day out! Public safety officials, are to be highly commended for the efforts that they make on behalf of the communities they serve.

Over the years I have been working closely with many public safety departments, first responders,  police departments and others across the country to educate, train and provide UAV / UAS tools and technology. Sadly more often than not, many do not have the budget to afford the inflated prices of this type of hardware. Why do we say inflated prices?

Working daily within this industry, we see things the general public and our clients cannot see taking place from hardware manufacturers and some distributors. Frankly, it is a bit disturbing to us that ( some ) treat their client base as if a cash cow!

The bottom line is our public safety agencies across the country are under very tight budgets. Please consider a small donation in any amount to help us help them to get the UAV/UAS  tools they cannot afford at this time. Together we can make a difference one gift at a time! The reality is the longer these departments in need go without effective tools, the more risk of lives and property being lost!
Please take some time to learn more about how you may be able to contribute, as an individual, small company, large corporation, media entity, or grant writer to this most important program.

If this issue is important to you, please consider this biblical principle that applies, found at 2 Corinthians 8:14
“ but that by means of an equalizing, your surplus at the present time might offset their need, so that their surplus might also offset your deficiency, that there may be an equalizing.”

Together we can create this “equalizing” one donation at a time!

Thank you for your support and interest!

Departments In Need

FIRE

FIRE

Eyes in the Sky are an invaluable asset to fire departments! Be it a structure fire or land fire the tactical advantages to direct ground assets efficiently and safely cannot be underestimated. Situational awareness is key when fighting a fire.

RESCUE

RESCUE

Eyes in the Sky for search and Rescue via helicopter and or fixed-wing aircraft have been implemented for years. However, high cost and lack of rapid deployment can cost lives. UAV’s are low cost, portable, fast deployment solutions that can be fitted with Thermal and other types of sensors.

POLICE

POLICE

Eyes in the Sky for Police has always proven to be a valuable asset. From suspect apprehension to crowd control are examples of use. However, the high cost to taxpayers and the number of aerial assets create limitations. UAV’s are low cost, portable, fast deployment solutions that can be fitted with Thermal and other types of sensors.

WATER RESCUE

WATER RESCUE

Eyes in the Sky for search & rescue water missions are life savers! The
average cost for water search and rescue can cost as much as $25,000 per day using conventional aerial & boating assets. UAV’s, are low cost, portable, fast deployment solutions that can be fitted with Thermal and other types of sensors. And can cover fast expanses in short periods of time. In the winter the difference between life and death is counted in seconds.

HAZ-MAT

HAZ-MAT

Eyes in the Sky on the scene of a HAZ-MAT event helps eliminate risk and contamination to the ground crew and the environment. A situation can quickly be assessed with a UAV fitted with cameras and sensors. Fast deployment reduces time-consuming PPE rigging requirements that may not even be required. When a Spill takes place, for example, minutes can mean the difference between safe containment and environmental disaster!

SECURITY

SECURITY

Eyes in the Sky, for crowd control, significant events, perimeter, and border security can help reduce risk to the public at large. We now live in a society where security cameras are almost everywhere. But a mobile aerial camera can provide additional security. Visible light, night vision and thermal can allow officials a superior advantage.

Donations

According to Wikipedia the term Public safety may encompass many different agencies from fire, Rescue, Police, Coast Guard, Haz-Mat, Security agencies and border security. All of these agencies provide some level of services for our communities. When a need arises, we depend upon them for protection from loss of life and or Injury, damage and or loss of property both private and business. And sadly all too often protection from criminals and even terrorist threats! Many who serve are paid professionals; however, smaller communities with limited budgets depend upon large groups staffed with Volunteers who risk life and limb day in and day out! It is these that perhaps are the ones most in need of the NPS-DDP support. Your contribution, no matter the size will go a long way to help those who protect us!

  • Video Drone Request Instructions

The Board members of NPS-DDP.org understand the importance of being able to receive the tools that you need to do your job safely and efficiently. The reason we founded this program is with one mission in mind, to help put “Eyes in the Sky for Every Department in Need” TM

With that vision as the foundation of our program development, please take the time to fill out this form or for much better chance of drawing attention to you request please consider creating a unique video, in either application please explain the following:

    1) Why your department needs a drone
    2) How your department could have benefitted from a drone in the past
    3) Express how the use of this technology will benefit your operations, as well as the communities that you serve
    4) Tell us how this donation will assist your department in operating more safely and efficiently in the future. Feel free to elaborate on your circumstances.
(Example: border city, railway, manufacturing facilities, beach community, etc.)
    5) Tell us the minimum requirement for the drone. Feel free to express to us what your ideal drone hardware would be to incorporate into this asset

With the video option please be as creative and detailed as you can. The more detail you add, the more persuasive your video will be, and this will increase your chances of a timely donation. We have a growing list of partner supporters, from drone and lighting manufacturers to software solution providers and more. Note that all our supporting partners review each, and every video as well as the Board of Directors. Feel free to make your video as short or long as you like but state your case clearly and persuasively.

Please also note the main requirement to receive a drone is to have in place an FAA approved 107 pilot able to deploy any donated asset. If you do not have a 107 you may sign up for our program or anyone else’s program. We prefer you to use our program as a portion of the purchase (5%) goes back to support this drone donation program, but in NO way is this required!

Once you have completed your video, upload to the link here and we will get it previewed and if approved, we will inform you and it will be posted on the NPS-DDP.org interactive map.
