Their Request

Douboisetown Fire Department’s Paul Vavra’s submission to the program explained: ”Our agency can utilize Skydio 2 to assist during the Covid-19 crisis by having Skydio available to respond to incidents requiring aerial awareness in order to utilize fewer resources and shorten the duration of the incidents. Examples include: Search and Rescue, Fire Overwatch, assisting the police department during critical incidents, and safely evaluating Haz-Mat incidents.”

Marc Langley, founder of NPS-DDP.org: “In emergency situations, every second is deemed important. UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) and drone technology can provide lifesaving assistance to public safety agencies with emergency calls. Unfortunately, many public safety departments across the nation cannot afford to purchase drones, as the cost of the technology is very high, this forces many to simply go without.”

Marc Langley on the partnership with Skydio for a select few agencies: “Skydio and NPS-DDP share the same vision and hope to help alleviate this issue when establishing their respective programs, whereby public safety departments of all types and sizes may apply to receive a drone at no cost to them.
